FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. What size clothing do you swap/sell? We sell newborn up to 16 in boys and girls clothing. We
sometimes have Missy/Jr sizes and Maternity clothes.

2. What condition should the clothes be in when I swap in? What brands do you accept/sell?

Clothing must be freshly laundered even if it was cleaned before storing to kill allergens and odors
(prefer hypoallergenic detergent like Dreft®). *Clothing that requires laundering upon arrival at our facility
will only be awarded half of the Gumdrop value!

We only accept and distribute the highest quality children’s garments. Anything that does not meet our
“gently used” or EUC (Excellent Used Condition) quality standard is not awarded the full Gumdrop swap-in
value, but awarded a value of ($)1 gumdrop per item. We call these “Goodie Gumdrops” and these items
are donated to charity.

In an effort to avoid waste, we also salvage damaged items by repairing or repurposing them into new
apparel, accessories or quilts, which are sold under our “Gumdrop Couture” label. If you send in items
unfit for charity (badly stained, ripped, missing a zipper, etc.) you will not earn any gumdrops but are
donating to this recycling effort. If you want to submit your unusable, damaged items for this recycling
program please separate those items in your shipment and label “DONATE”. Thank you in advance for
your help in keeping these things out of our nation’s landfills.

3. What are gumdrops and how do I use them?

Gumdrops are the name of the currency at GumdropSwap. A gumdrop has the same value as $1 (one
U.S. Dollar) but cannot be cashed out. You earn gumdrops when you trade in gently used children’s items.
When you place an order through our store or use your gumdrops in our store, we call that “Swap Out”.
Gumdrops can be used to pay for the items in your cart and your outgoing shipping charges. If you do not
have enough gumdrops to pay for your entire order, you will be prompted to pay the difference through
Paypal™ (Paypal™ account not required).

4. I don't want to swap. Can I make a donation? Yes! We are not a non-profit so we cannot provide
a tax write-off. Many people were going to donate or throw away things anyway but admire or mission of
recycling and saving money and want to support our efforts. We welcome your donations. Call 800-385-6080,

5. What is the difference between Online and Local Memberships?

Local Members swap/shop primarily in our bricks-and-mortar boutique located in downtown Bridgeport, CT.
You can shop from our ever changing name-brand inventory of clothes, toys, books, gear and equipement.
Your kids are welcome to play in our play area while you shop. You may also opt to drop off your unwanted
items, if you don't have time to stay. We will credit your account online with the gumdrops you have earned.
Local Members can also place orders online if they do not care to pick out the items personally and we will
be your personal shopper to select merchandise in the sizes and styles you specify. You can pick up your
online order at your convenience. Local Memberships are priced according to how many children you are
swapping for (1-4 kids, price is capped at 4 children).

Online Memberships are for people who never step foot in our boutique in Bridgeport, CT. The cost of
membership is so low because Online Members pay incoming and outgoing shipping. Please Note: We do not
charge any extra S&H fees. You pay for the weight of your package. So order as much or as little as you
want. Online Members specify the type of garment, size, and gender of the garments they need and we are
your personal shopper. We select the best from the available merchandise from your specifications to fill
your order. This is great for parents that want nice, affordable clothes that fit their kids and aren't very
picky about brands. We do not sell larger equipment like strollers or toys through our online store. Those
things are available to Local Members Only. You can purchase baby essentials like blankets, towels,
crib sheets, etc. There is a flat Online Membership rate not affected by how many children you have.

4. As an Online Member, why can't I pick and choose the clothes for my kids?

The process of photographing, describing and updating the website for every item we acquire is time
consuming and impossible.Those things will be found in the appropriate size/age category. We get so
many swapped items, it would take a large team of people working around the clock to update the online
inventory. As fast as things get posted they could sell to a Local Member and all that labor would be in
vain. To keep this service affordable, we serve as your child's personal stylist. When you register and
create an account there is a field where you can specify your style preferences. You can note "My son
loves orange" or "Please no characters or cute sayings on t-shirts" or "we love frilly and embroidered
things" and will accomodate those requests when we fill an order for your child. You can always place
a comment with each order. For instance a mom of a special needs child that had trouble buttoning and
zipping her clothes asked for elastic waist bottoms. Not a problem. We do feature some special items or
merchandise that we have multiples of in our online store.Those things will be found in the appropriate
size/age category.

5. Do you ever pay cash for children's stuff? Yes. This is reserved for people that can come into the
physical location. We do not pay as much cash as we can award in gumdrop credits but if it's a size we need
or items we think we can resell, we will pay cash for your items. Please c

6. Do I get anything for referring customers to Gumdrop Swap? Yes! We have a Gumdrop
Referral Program: Reward yourself as you help your friends and family de-clutter! Instruct your friends to
enter your account username in the designated field when they register and subscribe to a paid
membership
.
Your account will be credited one (5) gumdrops for each 3 month subscription and 20
gumdrops for each 1 year subscription you refer. Please allow up to 3 days for your account to be credited
with your referral points.

7. How do I become a Gumdrop Paid Representative? Don’t have any children’s clothes to trade? Do
you want an easy way to supplement your income without paying any up front costs? Well, if you agree that
Gumdrop Swap is a great concept and want to tell the world, you can be rewarded for your enthusiasm.
This
program is a great way for you to earn extra cash for bragging about a great service that you would
hopefully tell your friends about.
Register with the website to set up your account. On the registration form,
make sure you check the box stating that you only want to be a Paid Rep and do not intend to swap or shop
on the website. Then tell everyone you meet about GumDropSwap! For each person that enters your
username
in the designated field when they register and subscribe to a paid membership, your account will
be credited five ($5) “referral dollars” if they buy a 3 Month Membership and twenty ($20) Referral dollars if
they buy a Yearly Membership. Your referral points will add up in your account and once you have
accumulated a minimum of 25 referral dollars, you can cash out. *A one time administrative fee of $5.00 will
be deducted from your first check.
Once you have at least 25 referral dollars in your account and you are

one week for delivery of your money order or Paypal payment (provide the email address that you want your

8. How can my kid(s) be Gumdrop of the Month?
Each month we randomly select a “GOTM” from
emailed customer submissions. The winner will be awarded bonus 5 gumdrops. To enter, email ONE photo of
a child, multiple children, or a family group shot. This is a way to show off your beautiful family and win more
Gumdrops. You only have to enter once in a membership year. If you do not win in one month, you are
automatically in the drawing for subsequent months. You may only win once in a membership year. *Your photo
may require altering to fit our website. We will do the best to retain the original layout. Vertical shots work best.

Clothing Size(s), Interesting comment (optional): For instance, if there are twin boys, you could say "brothers
and best friends”. If multiple children are pictured, please list the names, ages, and clothing sizes as the children

Photos or images that you submit must be owned entirely by you and cannot contain the images of, or owned by,
any third party, and cannot be infringing, vulgar, obscene, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, hateful, or
racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable. You understand and agree that we may, but are not obligated to,
review this content and may delete or remove it (without notice) in our sole and absolute discretion, for any
reason or no reason. Remember, professional photographers retain the rights to their work. You must get written
permission to use photos taken by a photographer.

9. How do I submit a Testimonial? You may leave a testimonial by clicking "Submit Testimonial" in the left menu.
However, we reserve the right to reject, remove or edit such content at anytime without notice. Reviews should
not be posted that contain: harsh, profane or discriminatory language; illegal, obscene, threatening, defamatory
or otherwise objectionable content; URLs, phone numbers, mailing or e-mail addresses, or a discussion of
Gumdrop Swap policies or services. By submitting a review, you understand and are permitting that all or part
information provided in your testimonial may be publicly posted on our Web site.

10. Can I Advertise on Gumdrop Swap's website? If you are interested in advertising on Gumdrop Swap's
home page or Gabby's Blog, "Gumdrops & Groanings" http://www.gumdropswap.blogspot.com, please email

for rates. We offer complimentary graphic design services to make sure your ad fits
our site aesthetically. Ad sizes can be customized to your needs. Ads appearing on the home page can range
from $15-$50/month, depending on the size and order of appearance. We suggest offering a specifc coupon code
to our customers to better track the exposure from our site.

11. I think our business/service compliment each other. Can we trade links? If you have a related

12. Can I make a Monetary Donation? Maybe GumdropSwap is the best idea you have heard in a long time.
Maybe you feel we don't charge a high enough membership fee. Maybe you like our charitable efforts and want to
help some deserving children in the Greater Bridgeport, CT area. We will appreciate your donation, no matter your
motivation! Keep in mind, we are not a non-profit organization so your donation will not qualify as a tax deduction.

13. I want to end my membership but I have some unused gumdrop credits. Can I Donate my
Gumdrops to someone that could use them?
If you choose not to renew your membership
within 10 days of the expiration date, you will lose any Gumdrops in your account. You may donate your
Gumdrops for charitable use or to another member by expressing that in an email to gumdropswap(at)gmail.com.
We must receive this notice before the 10 day grace period had ended, otherwise your points will be lost. If you
are donating to another Gumdrop Swap member, provide their first and last name.

14. What are Goodie Gumdrops? We accept and distribute only the best quality children’s garments and
accessories. Anything that does not meet our “gently used” quality standard is not awarded the full Gumdrop
swap-in value, but instead awarded a value of ($)1 Gumdrop per item. We call these “Goodie Gumdrops”.
"Gently used" means no obvious signs of wear (pilling, fading, discolored fabric, missing buttons, hanging threads, etc.).

15. What Charitable Organizations does Gumdrop Swap support? We have made donations of summer
clothing to children in Haiti after the earthquake in early 2010. We currently assist families that have been identified
through local government run programs, charitable organizations and faith-based initiatives. A parent of each family
we assist is asked to volunteer at Gumdrop Swap headquarters for a few hours monthly to prevent abuse of this service.
