Anytime during store hours. If you cannot make it during normal store hours, please contact us to arrange a time. We will do our best to accommodate your schedule.
We DO NOT follow a seasonal schedule. We take all seasons year-round. Swimsuits in winter and snowsuits in summer. As long as the clothing is clean, stylish and not damaged, we'll accept it. Gear must be clean (and not recalled). We DON"T ACCEPT infant car seats (here's why), stuffed animals or drop-side cribs (banned).
We sell preemie and newborn up to 16 in boys
and girls clothing. We have Missy/Jr sizes for girls, and
Clothing must be freshly laundered even if it was cleaned before storing to kill allergens and odors (prefer hypoallergenic detergent especially for infant clothing). *Clothing that requires laundering (if accepted) will only be awarded 1/2 the potential Gumdrop value!
We only accept and distribute the highest quality children’s garments, regardless of label name. Anything that does not meet our "gently used” or EUC (Excellent Used Condition) quality standard is not awarded any credits, you may take them back or we will donate to charity. We sometimes salvage damaged items by repairing or repurposing them into new apparel, accessories or quilts, which are sold under our “Gumdrop Couture” label. If you bring items unfit for charity (badly stained, ripped, missing a zipper, etc.) you will not earn any gumdrops but are donating to this recycling effort. If you want to submit your unusable, damaged items for this recycling program please separate those items in your shipment and label “DONATE”. Thank you in advance for your help in keeping these things out of our nation’s landfills.
"Gumdrops" are what you earn when you SWAP your unwanted maternity and kids items at Gumdrop Swap. You earn 1 gumdrop for each $1 of retail value that your items are worth in our store. Gumdrops cannot be cashed out. As long as you have gumdrops equal to the retail price of the things you want to buy, you get a 50% discount! For every gumdrop dollar used the customer pays $.50 as their swap fee. For instance, A customer picks out what a non-swapper would pay $100 for but because they have swapped and have 100 gumdrops, they would only pay $50 (plus tax) as their swap fee to use 100 gumdrop points.
No. We are looking for swappers who still need items for their children and appreciate quality, value and customer service we provide. We are very generous with the store points we award because we only make money on swapping, when you spend your "Gumdrop Points". It is the best option if you have kids that still fit children's sizes or want to make purchases for kids in these sizes.

We are not a non-profit BUT you can donate to Big Brothers Big Sisters of CT by dropping off your items with us and requesting a donation receipt. In 2010, we made donations to children in Haiti after the earthquake in early 2010 and reguarly donated to Community Closet in Bridgeport (now called LifeBridge). We often directly assist families that have been identified through local government run programs, charitable organizations and faith-based initiatives.
