We sell preemie and newborn up to 16 in boys
and girls clothing. We sometimes have Missy/Jr sizes for girls, and
Maternity clothes.
Clothing must be freshly laundered even if it was cleaned before storing to kill allergens and odors (prefer hypoallergenic detergent especially for infant clothing). *Clothing that requires laundering (if accepted) will only be awarded half of the Gumdrop value!
We only accept and distribute the highest quality children’s garments, regardless of label name. Anything that does not meet our "gently used” or EUC (Excellent Used Condition) quality standard is not awarded any credits, you may take them back or we will donate to charity for you. We sometimes salvage damaged items by repairing or repurposing them into new apparel, accessories or quilts, which are sold under our “Gumdrop Couture” label. If you bring items unfit for charity (badly stained, ripped, missing a zipper, etc.) you will not earn any gumdrops but are donating to this recycling effort. If you want to submit your unusable, damaged items for this recycling program please separate those items in your shipment and label “DONATE”. Thank you in advance for your help in keeping these things out of our nation’s landfills.
Gumdrops are the name of the currency at Gumdrop Swap. A gumdrop has the same value as $1 (one U.S. Dollar) but cannot be cashed out. For every gumdrop dollar used the customer pays $.30 or $.60 as their swap fee depending on what type of item it is. For instance, A customer picks out $100 worth of gently used clothing. They would pay $30 as their swap fee to use 100 gumdrop credits, instead of paying the actual $100 total a non-swapper would pay.
No. We are looking for swappers who still need items for their children, not people looking to use us as an ATM. There are many avenues to try to make money on your used items, please pursue those. We are very generous with the store credits we award. It is the best option if you have kids that still fit children's sizes or want to make purchases for kids in these sizes.
If you are interested in advertising on Gumdrop Swap's home page or Gabby's Blog, "Gumdrops & Groanings" please email gumdropswap(at)gmail.com for monthly rates. We have made donations to children in Haiti after the earthquake in early 2010. We currently assist families that have been identified through local government run programs, charitable organizations and faith-based initiatives. We regularly donate to the Community Closet in Bridgeport in the basement of FSW. This organization gives freely to families in need.
